Scribblenauts offers truly unique, open-ended, "emergent gameplay" for the Nintendo DS Lite / DSi handheld gaming systems by developer 5th Cell. The main character Maxwell must solve puzzles by summoning objects, creatures, and people using the DS Stylus and writing the objects to make them spring to life. Write "Vampire" and a Vampire appears, write "Holy Water" and Maxwell can throw Holy Water at the Vampire to kill him. World 1 The Gardens Puzzle Level 1-1 SolutionsDifficulty: 1 star, Par: 3, Hint - Give two of them what they would use in their hands! Easy Solutions: Fire Axe and Fire Hose will work for the Fireman, Cleaver or Pan will work for the Chef, Gun or Handcuffs will work for the Policeman, and a Pills or Chart will work for the Doctor. Crazy Solutions: Why not try some more specific vocabulary words? Giving the Cop an ID or the Doctor a Stethoscope works. Or, Maxwell can give the Chef something he can enjoy, like Soup or Salad. Breadsticks anyone? World 1 The Gardens Puzzle Level 1-2 SolutionsDifficulty: 1 Star, Par: 3, Hint - Capture the Butterfly! Easy Solutions: To reach the Butterfly, a Ladder, Jetback, Wings, or even a Trampoline works great. Crazy Solutions: It's possible to bring the Butterfly down to Maxwell by roping it up with a Lasso. Alternatively, dropping an object on top of the Butterfly will get it close enough to pick up. World 1 The Gardens Puzzle Level 1-3 SolutionsDifficulty: 1 Star, Par: 2, Hint - Use the ramp to beat his distance! Easy solutions: An object in every young boy's life will work, Roller Skates, Skateboard, or Bicycle will send Maxwell flying far enough to earn that Starite. Crazy Solutions: If Maxwell is feeling a bit dangerous, he could ramp over that kid with a Race Car or an SUV. Or, if he's feeling a bit silly, an Unicycle will work as well. World 1 The Gardens Puzzle Level 1-4 SolutionsDifficulty: 1 Star, Par: 3, Hint - Give the Farmer three farm animals! Easy Solutions: The following is a short list of accepted barnyard animals: Chicken, Cow, Dog, Hen, Horse, Lamb, Pig, Piglett, Rooster. Crazy Solutions: This level doesn't so much stretch the imagination as it does the vocabulary, so there's not much room for creativity. However, this puzzle can stretch the brain a different way by trying to create families of animals. Sheep, Lamb, and Ram will work. Players can challenge themselves by creating as many animal families as they can think of. World 1 The Gardens Puzzle Level 1-5 SolutionsDifficulty: 1 Star, Par: 2, Hint - Refresh him! Easy Solutions: The man wants to feel refreshed, so summoning a Rain Cloud, Lake, Pool, Sprinkler,or just about any other water word works perfectly. As do refreshing drinks, such as Cola and Lemonade. For more ideas, check out the Scribblenauts Weather Words List. Crazy Solutions: So the man wants refreshment huh? Why not take it to the max with a Waterfall, Iceberg, or Monsoon? Or, even though it's in the middle of the desert, a Fan or Air Conditioner are both acceptable. World 1 The Gardens Puzzle Level 1-6 SolutionsDifficulty: 1 Star, Par: 2 - Reunite the girl and her kitten. Easy Solutions: The standard flying objects work, such as Jetpack or Helibackpack, just fly to the roof and pick up the cat. Or, climb up a Ladder or Rope. Crazy Solutions: Instead of slaving oneself to reach the cat, Maxwell can bring the cat to him. A little Catnip gives that kitty plenty of courage to jump off the roof and into the loving hands of the little girl. Or, with a little luck, summoning a Spring and dropping it on top of the cat can knock it off the roof.
